  1. The first trimester is so hard - at least it was for me. I kept telling people it was like having a case of the stomach flu - for 8 weeks! I was run down, lethargic, super nauseous all day long, emotional and the hormone supplements on top of that just aggravated it all. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Your body is working really, really hard right now and focusing on growing another person - leaving you to fend for yourself. Stay hydrated, eat as well as the nausea will let you and rest when you can. It's okay too if you don't enjoy being pregnant right now. I know I didn't and I also felt really guilty about it. Now that I'm feeling better (started to around 12 weeks) I'm enjoying it much more!

  2. I can absolutely understand your feelings on not having a job right now. I am sure all the hormones are making things alot worse. From all of your blogs, it sounds like you and Chop have always been financially smart and made good decisions. Try to take a breath, step back and hopefully second trimester will kick in and you will feel so much better :)

  3. Having vomited just about everyday for 2.5 months...still going at 16 weeks I understand your frustration! Maybe it is our bodies way of telling us we need to get used to doing things differently. It will all fall into place. The 9 week scan is like putting down a $1000 bet....the 12 week scan is like putting down a $10 000 bet. Thrill of winning with so much to lose.

  4. Hang in there honey - just try and take every day one day at a time and try not to think about the 9w3d milestone - the fact that you feel so sick and tired are both amazingly positive signs that all is well. I threw up from weeks 6 to weeks 17 and my doc said, 'the sicker the mum, the healthier the bub' which was very reassuring for me! And you will find the strength to look for another job, but don't put too much pressure on yourself right now - try to find a balance between job searching and resting - chip away at it a little bit daily perhaps? Thinking of you lots :-) xx
