At a friends' 30th birthday party yesterday, I began feeling the familiar bubbly flutter in my belly, so I put my hand on a spot just below my belly button, and I could feel a kick with my hand! It happened a couple of times, so I knew it was real, and it was definitely stronger than the normal little movements I had previously felt (from 7th Jan onwards). Very exciting! My little one must have been having a party of their own, on the inside!
In other news, we received a letter today informing us of the dates that we're booked in at the hospital for our childbirth education classes. I just know that we'll be forced to watch a DVD on giving birth. Good times. Hahaha. Anyway, we have our first class in a few weeks, then another 4 classes weekly in April/May. Hopefully Chop will be able to make it to all of them with me, at least we have plenty of notice so he can put requests in at work so he doesn't get shifts on those evenings. I'll need him there because my ability to take in information may be limited if my mind gets clouded with fear of pain... I've always just gone along thinking that I'll just do what I'm told when it comes to giving birth, but I realise that there's probably a lot to be gained from trying to prepare myself by having some idea of what to expect. Ignorance may not always be bliss!
9 sleeps until we find out the gender!

Squee! So exciting! What are YOU thinking re: gender?? Enjoy the bubbles. Soon they'll be belts!
ReplyDeleteOur classes start in early Feb and I'm SO excited.
What a huge moment for you! Can't wait to find out the baby's gender!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that you were able to feel baby from the outside! (I have a little bit too much extra padding for that yet. lol)
ReplyDeleteIt's looks as if your gender poll is close, but I'm still saying it's a girl. :)
That's awesome about feeling the kicks!! That's the best! Can't wait to hear about the gender!!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the Beer and Bubs sessions for men. Think they run in Melbourne. There is a book for dads. It is called Cheers to Childbirth. I read it and found it really helpful, or informative. Good tips for dads to be.
ReplyDeleteVery cool you are feeling the baby now! I hope Chop can make the classes - I know what you mean about sides of the brain... I think only 6 days until Gender reveal - so exciting!
ReplyDeletep.s. I nominated you for the Liebster Award on my blog. :)
