  2. What is this Mommy & Baby unit at the hospital??? Is this an Australian thing? It sounds amazing! I hope you get the help you need there!

    1. It's what we call 'sleep school' (but the hospital doesn't like us calling it that for some reason). Basically I'll be going in for 5 nights. The nurses do all the baby settling on night 1 and allow the mother to actually get a full night's sleep. Then on the second day and night they settle while I watch how its done, and by the 3rd day I will start to take over hopefully. Its a full support unit that even does a compulsory training session with partners to get them up to speed on settling the baby. I know parents who've gone in with twins and by the time the 5 nights is done, the twins were both sleeping 12 hours at night, and bapping for 2 hours at a time during the day. I've not heard of anyone who hasn't had this kind of success from the sleep school, so I'm hoping that we can get Eddie to enjoy sleeping too!!

  4. How cute he is! Have I told you how lately envious I am of the sleep school? :-) Wish we had something like that where I live. Even at 6+mos, Beanie is a terrible napper and still wakes at night to feed at least once. But the sleep stretches are definitely getting longer, so there is hope!
